My Journey
I’m old enough to collect social security and wise enough to continue working on various projects to keep my mind engaged. Born in the 1960s, I grew up in the 1970s and got married in the 1980s. My family has a rich tradition of old-fashioned activities, such as woodworking, farming, and gunsmithing. During my high school years, I worked as a blacksmith and even collected wild blackberries for spending money. In those days, finding ways to keep yourself occupied was essential. Phones were attached to walls, and on clear days, you could barely see the next house down the road.
Throughout my life, I’ve enjoyed playing cards, Pong, and even multi-user dungeons (MUDs). It’s been an exciting time to live, and I’ve had the privilege of experiencing many things. Now, I feel compelled to share some of my knowledge and experiences with others.
As I mentioned, I’m older, some even say ancient. Some people even claim that I rode dinosaurs to school! While that may not be entirely accurate, I do have a YouTube alter ego called GrampyJAG, who occasionally engages in commentary about myself. Check out the link to my YouTube channel(s).
Throughout my life, I’ve had various interests, including gemstone cutting and watercolor painting. In fact, I even taught watercolor painting for a while. You can find one of my students, Hailey Herrera, on Fine Art America. She’s a talented and prolific artist with a remarkable command of color. I’m excited about the possibility of opening my own gallery soon.
Moving on, I’ve been writing for years, perhaps even centuries. What’s longer than centuries? Suffice it to say, it’s been a long time, and some of my independent projects are now available on Amazon. Currently, I have about 10 coloring books available. Several non-fiction projects are in the works, and I’m working on a collection of short fiction. There’s a lot to look forward to.
But that’s not all. As I mentioned, I have a YouTube channel, based around a characterization of myself known as GrampyJAG. GrampyJAG is an irascible figure whose primary purpose is to criticize my Minecraft channel. Yes, even the old folks play Minecraft. In fact, it’s quite beneficial for senior citizens. It fosters social connections and provides a creative outlet where you can engage in activities that may be challenging to accomplish in your current state of life.
But I digress. GrampyJAG also serves as a source of pointed commentary and learning. One playlist, JessTalkin, is where I ramble on about almost any subject from my journey in investing to rants about today’s driving situation. Yes, the past does look better through my rose-colored glasses. Another playlist is about game theory and modding (I’m currently working on coding three modpacks for Minecraft). The links are somewhere around here.
So, the long and short of it is that you never know what you might find on this website. There’s plenty to do, see, and purchase if you’re in the mood. I share a lot of content on the World Wide Web for free. Help an old man out and check out the merchandise sections, affiliate links, and donation buttons.
Thanks in advance,
